Volunteer Spotlight

Jaimie started volunteering at the Kelowna Women’s Shelter in December 2014 (time flies!).

She mainly does write-ups for the blog and website, but also loves helping out at events.

Her highlights include dressing up as a cat for the Fat Cat Children’s Festival parade and taking part in the annual Christmas party for children who have visited the Shelter.

Jaimie volunteers because she feels like it’s important to give back to the community. She also feels strongly that women should support and empower each other in whatever way possible. No woman should ever feel unsafe in her own home as a result of her partner.

Jaimie hopes women and children leave the Shelter feeling strong, confident and aware that there is a whole community of people behind them wishing them well.

Thank you to all of our volunteers!
